2012 in Review

I cannot believe that the year is almost over. I am thankful and sad. It has been a great year with some highs and lows.  The highs definitely outnumber the lows. I found a job that I love. I went back to work in a retail store. I never realized just how much I love working in retail. It helped bring in a little extra money and saved us money on clothing as well. Win win! We joined an amazing homeschool co-op. We have found friends who accept my family as the imperfect people  we are. This is probably the greatest thing that happened this year. We were welcomed with open arms.

This past semester, the children took writing and literature, art, team building, CSI, math, and Little House on the Prairie. The writing and literature class helped Tracker & Squirrel improve their writing. The amount of progress they made blew my mind. Dragon excelled in writing and confirmed my belief that he is way beyond my ability. :) For science the children took part in Ripley's Science class. They even dissected a squid...yuck.

2013 is going to be an exciting year. Dragon will officially become a high schooler. The thought terrifies and excites me. We have wonderful things happening at both the co-op and the 4-H. We will start going on field trips again this year.  I cannot wait. :)

I hope that you have a fantastic Holiday Season.

Sounds like a great year! I'm sure that high school will be easier than you think (part of the benefit of raising independent learners). ;0)
