2006-2007 School Year

I feel like it was just last week that I was starting to plan this past school year. Our school year officially ends on Friday. I am already looking forward to planning next year. What is wrong with me?? LOL

Next year will be full of lots of changes. We will be using a math(Math U See) and a history(Story of the World)curriculm for the very first time. We are also going to be studying the states using online resources, the library and books from Gallopade. I am also hoping to do mini units on the holidays as they come up. Science next year is going to be one big unit study. We are going to be studying biomes for the entire year. We are also going to be sending out a monthly newsletter for our family. I am excited about that! This fall the kids(all of them) will be playing soccer and then going to Tae Kwon Do once soccer is over. My oldest(ds8)will be starting private art lessons with a lady from a local gallery. I would really like to get the two youngest into them as well, but I am not sure if we would be able to pull that off or not.

We have one other really big change this year. I will be homeschooling all three of my children. My daughter is getting tired of not having 'real work' to do. We are going to be starting Kindergarten with her. She is slightly younger than school age here, but she won't be as bored. All together I will have K, 1st, & 3rd next year. Yikes!

I might not having any 'formal' schooling scheduled for the summer but there are somethings that we will be doing. We are going to be plotting Tropical storms and huricanes, working in our gardens, a few side trips thrown in, camping, and most importantly having fun!

All of this really comes down to the fact that I need to get better organized and more disciplined about school. I am going to be using the time off this summer for getting the house better organized, getting the kids to help more around the house and of course trying to find room for the school stuff.

I love your plans! You always seem well organized to me, and very creative to boot. http://momof3feistykids.homeschooljournal.net/
